Situation
West Park High School is a $122 million state-of-the-art high school in Roseville, California. It has a 4,500-seat football stadium, a separate all-weather track and field venue, baseball and lacrosse fields, basketball hardcourts, and two three-story main instruction buildings with reconfigurable classrooms, among many other features.
Solution
GBI completed the site grading for the entire project, which included the school’s buildings, parking lots, hardscapes, landscapes, and athletic fields. Additionally, GBI paved all areas of the new campus, including the parking lots, walking paths, basketball courts, and the track and field venue.
Notable
One noteworthy feature of the project was the school’s football stadium, which was countersunk below the surrounding buildings; GBI excavated a large hole in the middle of the campus and graded the surrounding slopes for the stadium’s bleachers.
