GBI was the contractor of choice to provide rehabilitation services to numerous residential and commercial streets throughout the city of Livermore, CA.
The most significant challenge on the project was performing all roadwork construction while simultaneously minimizing traffic impacts on both residential streets and the more heavily traveled business areas.
Our general scope of work included removal of the existing asphalt, replacing it with new pavement, and striping it accordingly. GBI also improved the existing concrete wheelchair ramps, bringing them to current ADA standards. Additionally, we upgraded the existing traffic signals, using new traffic camera systems to replace the old, buried traffic loops.
GBI partnered with the City of Livermore to develop traffic control plans and detours to mitigate congestion issues, while allowing our work to continue and finish on schedule. Team members were constantly thinking outside the box to find solutions that worked for both the traveling public and our paving crews. We are proud that this work for the City of Livermore allowed us to improve both local roads and the quality of life in one of our favorite hometowns.
