Situation

GBI was responsible for subcontracting the work on three wind farms—Dunlap, High Plains, and McFadden—roughly 80 to 100 miles west of Laramie, Wyoming.

Solution

GBI built the turbine sites and performed all road construction, erosion control and reclamation for the project. More than 60 miles of access roads were built on all three sites. By location, we created 74 turbine sites for Dunlap, 66 for High Plains, and 19 at McFadden. The Dunlap site itself produces renewable energy for customers in six states.

Notable

Because the projects were so remote, extra logistical consideration was required and implemented for all three sites. And even with extreme winter weather conditions, GBI maintained schedules and completed the projects on time.
