Situation
The Cordes Ranch International Park of Commerce (IPC) encompasses 1,800 acres on the East and West sides of Tracy, California. When completed, it will be the premier transportation and logistics hub for the Central Valley, servicing 7.2 million people within a 60-mile radius.
Solution
GBI has been involved in 15 different phases of project development since 2015, with more than 30 more planned for the years ahead. The sheer amount of work and materials have been staggering. To date, GBI has provided 1.4 million cubic yards of rough grade, installed 3.1 million square feet of building pad, and treated 8.1 million square feet of lime soil. Additionally, we have placed 5 million square feet of parking lot, and provided 500,000 tons of aggregate base as well as 150,000 tons of asphalt concrete.
Notable
Keeping up with the demanding schedules and tight deliveries throughout the projects has been the major—though doable—challenge. As GBI Project Engineer Ross Sternitzky explains: “All of the owners are excited to move into their new warehouses and many leases were signed prior to the site groundbreaking. GBI had to carefully orchestrate construction around operating businesses.”
