This project was part of Camas School District’s bond-funded effort to improve athletic facilities throughout the district. At Camas High School, GBI’s Oregon Region helped convert two varsity baseball and softball fields from grass to synthetic turf. GBI also regraded two junior varsity baseball and softball fields.
Apart from turfing the two varsity fields and refreshing the infields of the two junior varsity fields, GBI installed new perimeter fencing around three of the fields and installed a new overhead net between the fields to protect spectators. GBI also refurbished the school’s dugouts, which included the addition of new enclosure walls. Additionally, GBI prepped a location and completed the grading for a future fieldhouse. This project has benefitted the Camas community by giving student-athletes synthetic turf fields to practice and play on; the new fields require less maintenance and are advantageous for their all-weather utility.
