Goodfellow Bros. Hawaii Region Receives GCA and AGC Safety Awards

GCA Safety Awards 2023 Goodfellow Bros.

The General Contractors Association (GCA) of Hawaii held an award ceremony on June 14, 2023, for the 2023 Safety Awards with the theme “Reunited & It Feels So Good.”

The GCA Safety Awards is a part of the National Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Safety Awards, which acknowledges companies that have achieved a ‘Zero Incidence Rate.’ This means that no workdays were lost, or the company’s incidence rate was 25% lower than the average for each occupational division in 2022. The awardees are recognized based on their number of hours worked without any incidence per project type, such as Building, Highway, Federal & Heavy, Utility Infrastructure, or Associates/Specialty.

This year, Goodfellow Bros. was honored to receive a GCA Safety Award for Best in Category and Zero Incident Rate in the Utility Infrastructure with more than 250,000 labor hours category, and an AGC Zero Incident Rate Award.

“While we are honored to accept the GCA Safety Award on behalf of our team, it’s important to remember that this isn’t just about recognition,” said Ed Brown, Hawaii division president for GBI. “It’s a testament to our commitment to safety and the relentless vigilance of our workforce. Zero Incidence Rate doesn’t just happen – it’s a result of daily choices, of prioritizing the well-being of every individual on site. This award is for them, and it’s a promise that we’ll continue to strive for this standard every single day.”
