As part of GBI’s Annual Meeting held on Oahu, Hawaii, GBI presented the second annual Legacy Awards to six employees, each of whom has contributed to the company’s success.
“This year’s honorees exemplify why we started the Legacy Awards tradition—each has made a lasting impact on our company and their contributions have helped further our mission to be the contractor of choice,” said Chad Goodfellow. “We are so happy to be able to celebrate their hard work and dedication with the second annual GBI Legacy Awards program. Each award is so well deserved!”
Retired CFO, Dan Reisenauer and Area Manager, Matt Orlando were each presented with the 2023 Dale Moore Goodfellow Way Award that recognizes individuals who live “The Goodfellow Way.” Dan served as CFO for more than 30 years. He was known for his tremendous leadership and taking great care of his employees; Dan’s ethics and character left a lasting impact not only on his team but also on the company. Like Dan, Matt leads with integrity, professionalism, and humility. As the Area Manager for GBI’s Sacramento operations, Matt works hard to develop the next generation of leaders and is the epitome of how to live “The Goodfellow Way,” both on and off the jobsite.
Superintendents, Bruce Sorensen and Ricky Purdy were the recipients of the 2023 Bud Junger Field First Award. Both were recognized for their steadfast commitment to GBI’s craft employees and the field work environment. Known as “Chief Ricky” to the many crews he mentored throughout his career, Ricky has been trusted to run Maui region’s most essential marquee projects, traveling anywhere he is needed. Likewise, Bruce was nominated for his leadership to both the field crews and office staff, always finding time to offer support and guidance. He is a true mentor, known for his ability to cultivate great teams and bring out the best in others.
Project Manager, Jerry Morgado was honored with the 2023 Bill Gates Customer Service Award. Jerry was recognized for going above and beyond the call to ensure GBI continues to provide the highest quality of service to its customers. With both private and public clients, Jerry’s style of being upfront and honest with his customers has led to many successful project outcomes.
Lastly, California Project Engineer, Niklas Braun received the 2023 Jim Goodfellow Sr. Community Service Award. Niklas is a founding member and key driver of the California GoodDeeds Committee who champion various community give-back opportunities for staff in their region. Niklas’s passion for community outreach is infectious and inspiring to all.
